Job Title: Medical Records - Clinical Documentation Coordinator (Full-Time)

RESPONSIBLE FOR: Collaborates extensively with physicians, nursing staff, other patient caregivers, and coding staff to improve quality and completeness of documentation of care provided and coded. Facilitates concurrent modifications to clinical documentation to ensure commensurate reimbursement of clinical severity and services rendered to patients. Supports timely, accurate and complete documentation of clinical information used for measuring and reporting physician and facility outcomes. Educates all members of the patient care team on an ongoing basis.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS: Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or BS in Nursing or Registered Nurse with five years acute care experience or RHIA/RHIT with five years inpatient coding experience. Advanced clinical expertise and extensive knowledge of complex disease processes with a broad clinical experience in an inpatient setting. Previous clinical documentation improvement experience or medical audit experience preferred. (Prefer previous documenation specialist experience in a high volume hospital).
